Vehicles rented through TUMCAR are not permitted to be taken outside of Türkiye.

No Cross-Border Travel

  • The vehicle may only be used within the Republic of Türkiye.

  • Taking the rental car abroad is strictly prohibited, unless explicit written authorization is granted in advance.

  • Insurance coverage and contractual terms are valid only within Türkiye.

Important Notice

Unauthorized cross-border use may result in:

  • Immediate termination of the rental agreement

  • Loss of insurance coverage

  • Full liability for any damages, fines, or legal consequences

However, in certain situations the insurance coverage becomes invalid, and the renter is fully responsible for the damage.

❌ Situations Not Covered by Insurance

1️⃣ Driving Under the Influence

If the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the insurance coverage is void.

2️⃣ Unauthorized or Unregistered Driver

  • Driver without a valid driving license

  • Driver not listed in the rental agreement

3️⃣ Serious Traffic Violations

  • Excessive speeding

  • Running a red light

  • Dangerous or reckless driving

4️⃣ Missing Official Accident Report

  • No official accident report

  • No police report when required

  • No alcohol test documentation

5️⃣ Unauthorized Cross-Border Use

Taking the vehicle outside Türkiye without written authorization automatically voids insurance coverage.

6️⃣ Racing, Drifting, or Off-Road Use

  • Participation in racing events

  • Speed testing

  • Improper off-road usage

7️⃣ Lost Key or Wrong Fuel

  • Loss of vehicle key

  • Refueling with incorrect fuel

8️⃣ Intentional Damage or Gross Negligence

  • Deliberate damage

  • Failure to properly secure/lock the vehicle

⚠️ Important Notice

If the insurance terms are violated:

  • The renter may be charged the full repair cost.

  • Deductible protection may not apply.

  • Additional administrative or legal costs may arise.
